Real Estate Executives Play Classic Rock in Square Feeet Cover Band

Jimmy Kuhn has spent over 20 years at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, a real estate company handling a wide variety of transactions. As president, Jimmy Kuhn leads major initiatives, such as the creation of an advisory group specifically devoted to helping hospitals, municipalities, and universities manage their real estate effectively.

Jimmy Kuhn also plays classic rock with the Square Feeet, a cover band he formed with four other real estate executives. Kuhn plays the keyboard and guitar, with Billy Mendelson on bass, Michael Stein and Dave Katzman on guitar, and Nick Cangemi on percussion; all five members sing. The band is one of several mentioned in a Wall Street Journal article about the increasing popularity of playing music among senior executives.

The band’s gigs include shows at The Red Lion in New York City, Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Dockers Waterside in East Quogue, New York. Their covers, some of which appear on the band’s website,, include classics such as “Carry on My Wayward Son,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” and “Should I Stay or Should I Go?”
